My favorite tip! Getting Crafty
It is very tempting to buy something new every time an opportunity arises, but that is not always the best solution. I grew up in a very "crafty" family. We did not buy anything new unless it was absolutely necessary.
A few weeks ago the glass table top on my patio table shattered. My first instinct was to replace the glass, but after doing some online shopping... I realized that this option would cost me several hundred dollars. I was also concerned that it could shatter again which would cost me even more money.
My solution: a wood table top! I am obsessed with how it turned out!!
How did I create this?
My sweet husband created the tabletop using pressure treated lumber... he is super handy!! I then stained (#ad #amazonaffiliate linkhttps://amzn.to/4eEytyw ) the tabletop using 5 different colors of stain. Once the stained dried over night I added some decorative elements, using stencils and paint. Lastly, I sealed the tabletop.
This option saved me hundreds of dollars, and I like it so much more than a basic glass table top.
How could you save money by "getting crafty"?
Look around your house... are there things that need to be fixed or replaced? Could you repurpose something? Paint something? Recover something? The possibilities are endless!
